I went to the doctor today! I told her what was wrong (highlighted in my last post) and she looked at it. She talked about pulling it out and giving me a shot every 3 months instead. She actually looked at me, started to get ready to take it out, and stopped. I guess what she saw and by how I said it hurt she realized it was infected like I thought.
She said not to worry- it doesn't look bad and it explains my cramps. It was most likely irritated and got infected when the other doctor pushed it back into place.
I will be on medication for two weeks and then see go back in in another two weeks. If I'm still hurting she would like to revisit the pulling it out and trying the shots.
I guess, just be sure to stay clean! Wash all hands before touching, keep partners clean and self clean, and be sure to talk to your doctors! I've been 1+ month with the pain and infection with nothing to be worried about now that she has seen it.
Also, while there she let me know removal is easy but not to do it yourself in case something goes wrong. So please remember that! (:
This is my almost daily blog of how it is going with the Mirena. Hopefully not ANOTHER horror story!

Sick...
Okay! I'm updating from the last post.
I have a doctor appointment on Dec 19th.
TMI WARNING!
I'm having pain and abnormal discharge for myself. There is some pain doing everyday things like sitting, laying down, and bending over. My strings are still there but my uterus feels swollen/different to me. I thought I was going to update saying my period has lasted to long- but I realized it isn't blood.
I got a *little* worried and of course my symptoms are under the "Call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:" ... Just so everyone has a copy-
I will update after my appointment or sooner if something goes wrong.
Have a good week!

Hello again (:
Well it has been awhile since my last post. Everything is in place and my periods are super lite!
*I haven't used anything other than super thin pantie (panty?) liners since it was pushed back into place.
*However, my last period was over two weeks long and just "spotting"
I still get random cramps, but sometimes they hurt a bunch! I took different medicines until they stopped working and saw my DR. She said it was normal to cramp and not to worry... However, I have considered getting it out early because sometimes I can NOT handle it.
Some girls get pain that is supposedly like having contractions and I was told by some other girls that it sounds like that is what is happening to me. I've never been pregnant so I really couldn't tell you anything other than it HURTS at random times, anywhere. /:
I've had to stop in the store with my mom and just cry, or lean the chair in the car all the way back so it is forced to stretch out...
I was told the pain would be gone in my 6 months but I also know my body is weak and I take longer to heal. My mom is a little worried also.
I still have my 1 year appointment (may 2014), but like I've said, I've been considering getting it taken out sooner.
--
On a side note-
Some girls have decided to take it out themselves either on accident, wanting a baby, or because of pain. I fully understand the pain one but I'm far too worried that I'd hurt myself. I do not recommend doing it yourself. If you're hurting go see your DR! That is what they are for.
--
Another side note-
My insurance covered getting it put in, however, I was told that if I got out I may not be covered for anymore family planning. Things keep changing so be sure you're covered and know everything you need to!
--
Thank you all for stopping by! I'll update when I feel the need to ;)
And as always, feel free to ask questions!

Woot!
Woo-Hoo! Went in for my check-up after surprise surgery and everything looks good! My Doctor told me that not only did it look good, it was in the right place, and shouldn't be trying to push out anymore.
I've been having a LOT more random cramps but she says it is normal. I have had to move up to using a Menstrual Complete Medication because my Ibuprofen just wasn't working. Spotting every now and then. I just had my time of the month- it was almost two weeks but it was extremely light the whole time.
Left the Doctor with a "See you in a year!" so hopefully everything will be okay and I wont need to be back sooner!
I of course will TRY to keep this active but now that it is settling there wont be much to talk about. If anyone wants an update or has any questions just ASK in the comments (:

Hey everyone. Just wanted to say that I no longer feel pain so that is good! Also, I haven't felt anything other than my strings so it is in place (:

Day 1: After follow up
Well, day after follow up and surprise "surgery". I don't hurt nearly as much as I did yesterday when I got it pushed back in without pain meds. I'm a little worried that my pain going away so fast means it is trying to push back out again... When I get up my nerves enough I'll check and post how things are. (:

The Follow-Up
Today was my follow up appointment to make sure everything was okay. I felt PERFECT with a lighter and less painful period, but it turns out that it had tried to push back out of me instead of staying in.
WOW it hurt today getting it pushed back in! I was once again told that I did really well not screaming about the pain but I couldn't hold in my quiet squealing this time... Yep, I'm bleeding again... But it is normal. They used a machine to see that it was in right now which was kinda cool to see. Maybe next time they will tell me "Its in right now!" and I can just go home!
Basically how I feel V

Day 25 and 26
Well nothing is hurting or burning so YEY! (Also, today is my brother's 16th bday- He celebrates by playing video games like every other day of the week.) I haven't needed to take any ibuprofen lately so that is good. I'm really not sure what to write for y'all since I am feeling so well- these are turning into "I'm doing stuff today!" post. The 13th still feels so far away...

Day 23 and 24
My last post was about my discomfort and possibly being sick, apparently I'll just need to talk to my DR on the 13th because it doesn't burn nearly as much now. *Getting mixed signals body!* I'm feeling better though.

Day 21 and 22
So I have felt really good until this afternoon when I started hurting. I also burn a little, which I think could be another yeast infection ( I get them often) or something else- I'm still not a DR haha. Other than that I feel fine (:

Day 18, 19, 20
I have had some old placed cramping these last few days. I assume its because I'm done with my period but I'm not a DR. What I do know is that my strings are still there so it should be fine. Also, I have been >forcing< myself to be more physically active for school and for myself so my body may just be mad at me.

Day 16 and 17
Feeling pretty well today. I have a little cramping but its all good. I have to say, it started working REALLY fast for me. I still had my monthly but it was SO much lighter. You can't say "Have a Happy Period" until it leaves you feeling like this instead of hurting! I'm so happy :D

Day(s) 9, 10, 11,12,13,14,15
WHOA! Its been a week since I posted! I've been busy with other stuff so I'm sorry! But hey, it means I'm feeling great!! :D
First official "girl time" is almost over and already it is SO much better. It isn't gone but it is so much lighter I'm okay with it! I feel like it has been forever but I still have a month till my follow up! O.O
Time flies, but apparently not very fast.

Day 7 and 8
Hurt pretty bad at first but I slowly got better throughout the day.
Today seemed pretty good. Didn't start hurting till mid day but I don't think it is because of my Mirena. Also, I don't know what your preference is but I HATE pads and tampons hurt at the moment. So be warned, there could be discomfort....
Sorry for my bad art ;P

Day 5 and 6
I was still feeling well enough to help out yesterday so I didn't log on. However today is super cramps and although I have caped out my daily Ibuprofen I still hurt... Managed to take brother to a Dr atp then had to lay down when home. Grrrr. Also, today is the first "official" day of spotting- might explain my major pain.

Day 3 and 4
Sorry I didn't post... I was out all day and busy cleaning the next. Obviously I feel well enough to stay busy. Still cramps but they don't hurt as much anymore.

Day 2
Owwww. Major cramps today but I took some ibuprofen to help. I managed
to clean, trim and wash 1 of 2 cats, shower, and go out to eat. Baggy clothes
today! :(

Day 1
Things seem to be doing well. Woke up, slight cramps, took some ibuprofen. There is little to no blood- not even enough for me to consider calling it spotting. I'm hoping this means my body is accepting the IUD and things will still be good in a month+.
Feel a little more cramping when I bend to pick things up so I'm trying to be careful. With all of the horror stories of it going missing inside I don't want to test it. O.O So take things a little easy, it was a surgery.

Getting it done
Today at 1 PM I got the Mirena IUD to help with my heavy periods and to prevent any kids before I'm ready.
I want say it didn't hurt getting it put in, but it wasn't nearly as bad as people have said it would be. To me to worst part was actually being held open NOT getting it inserted. I squeezed my moms hand waiting to the real pain to start and it never came. The entire experience felt exactly like a bad day on my period. The doctor even said that I did really well (for being 18) and that teens are actually less likely to scream like her adult patients. There was a little blood but she said that was normal but to come back if it got worse than my normal.
I was getting a little warm on the way home and took some Ibuprofen and laid back watching TV as soon as we got in. Everything seems to be okay. Just another day feeling likeGIRL WOMAN.
I'll keep this updated as much as I can. Follow up APT to make sure everything is okay in on June 13th!
If you're like me and not sure exactly what was going on this will help you.
